Cookies failing? Here's what it breaks
With cookies blocked you can't stay logged in, shopping carts empty themselves, and many sites show a repeated cookie banner. The panel above also tests localStorage and IndexedDB, which modern sites use alongside cookies.
FAQ
- The cookies test failed. How do I enable cookies?
- In Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies. In Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security. Allow cookies at least for the sites you use, then reload this page.
- Should I block third-party cookies?
- Usually yes. First-party cookies keep you logged in to the site you're on; third-party cookies mostly serve cross-site tracking. Most browsers now block third-party cookies by default.
- Why do cookies work in normal mode but not private mode?
- Private/incognito windows accept cookies but delete them when the window closes, and often block third-party cookies more aggressively. That's expected behavior, not a fault.
